Novartis required a new home for its information technology group that incorporated
their standard design language and goals to achieve LEED certification in an underutilized shell space.
During pre-construction, our team provided constructability reviews, value engineering, design-assist and budgeting exercises. We performed minor demolition to prepare the largely empty existing space, but had to make major structural repairs, replacing and supplementing existing wood joists and structural steel. The team installed 28 new leovegas 50 free spinswindows, a new storefront and performed an extensive masonry restoration.
Our in-house craftsmen self-performed demolition, concrete, rough carpentry, masonry restoration and installation of doors and hardware. LEED points were earned from recycling, proximity to public transit, low-flow fixtures and FSC lumber and flooring.
