Wyndham Vacation Ownership and musical star Jimmy Buffet partnered to convert the former Grand Beach Palace Resort into the world’s first Margaritaville vacation ownership project. The phased conversion of the 25-acre site located on the northern side of St. Thomas transformed the property into a place where guests can be fully immersed in the brand’s escapism and island lifestyle.
Phase I of the project included the conversion of 290 existing hotel rooms into 262 fully furnished leovegas 50 free spinscondominium style units. Seven beachfront buildings and common areas were also revived, including a reception building, pool area, 5 O’clock Somewhere bar, Margaritaville® restaurant, dive shop with water activities and venues for live music. Phase two consisted of six hillside building conversions and the addition of a second pool and bar built into the hillside.
